After a day of seeing a kaleidoscope of roses throughout downtown Thomasville Friday afternoon, folks came together in one spot on broad street for the highly anticipated Rose Parade.
" I just love the parade, the drums were playing here and I just about went crazy. I love the marching,” shares Lois Jackson.
With the theme Love in Bloom, love was in the air as WCTV’s own bride and groom, Rob Nucatola and Ann Howard got things rolling as the parade’s Grand Marshalls.
Some say the parade acts as a rose city reunion of sorts.
"My children all enjoy it and we just enjoy being with the people walking up and down the streets with the shopping and food!" says Shelia Simpson.
"The floats and the people I think it's just a beautiful city in general. I think everybody just loves it!" adds Debbie McHenry.
While folks turned out in droves for a variety of reasons, at the end of the day it's really because it's fun.
That's enough to keep hundreds stepping out to the parade again next year.
The Sixth Annual Street Dance followed the parade, with live music from the oldies.
The band The Fabulous Classics played, it was a good time had by all!
