On Saturday, November 7, at around 12:30 a.m. Tallahassee Police Department says 18-year-old Christopher Byrd was traveling at a high rate of speed on West Georgia Street near Pope Street.
Byrd lost control of his 2008 Infiniti vehicle and crashed into a utility pole,breaking the pole in half. The vehicle also overturned before coming to a final stop.
The police investigation revealed that Byrd was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle.
TPD says Byrd died at the scene.

FredHunters.com has posted: Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 3:00-4:00pm at Christ The Rock Church 11000 Stirling Road Cooper City, FL, followed by a funeral service at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family request donations made to the Chris Byrd Scholarship fund.

I am so sorry to hear this lose. Our Love, thoughts and Prayers got to his family and friends. I knew this young man, eager for life and so a sharp kid that at 16 was in Management at McDonalds, he had commented that he will own one. No, this individual was a go-getter and had plans for his future. This accident does not make sence; a map of this intersection shows it is not a highway, just a 2 block stretch before street ends; doesn't seem to be much room for acceleration .
