Dozens of volunteers came out with their tool belts and hard hats to help build one woman her dream house.

Martha Granger is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. She says this new home she'll be getting is like the calm before the storm.

"It's ironic because this morning when I got here they told me they had a storm out there," said Granger. "But I know this time I won't have to run, I'll have a place to stay so it's one of the greatest moments in my life."

Martha Granger's home is scheduled to be completed early next year.

CONGRATULATIONS MARTHA, YOU ARE VERY DESERVING OF THIS HOME REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOUR "HATERS" ARE POSTING ON THE COMMENTS OF THIS ARTICLE. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE'S BLESSINGS ARE AND CONCENTRATE ON THIER OWN AND IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING BLESSINGS THEN MAYBE YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG. LOVE YOU MARTHA I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER FOR YOU, GOD BLESS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

what a deal. instead of going back to new orleans and picking up the pieces she stays here and gets a new house handed to her. LMAO.. where's the HUMANITY part of habitat? there are hundreds of famlies WITH children who are totally homeless. living in makeshift rooms and cardboard boxes in the woods. why not build some type of complex to house the real people in need? like the house Archbold Mem. Hosp. "donated" to habitat. they completely renovated the house and guess who got it... a nurse that works for that very same hospital, earning over $20 an hour. i know a lot of RN's. they all tell me that nurse was living very well on her income. so WHY did she get the house? habitat is UNFAIR on deciding who gets the housing. yea, this piss's me off! i am diabled and living in a 1974 mobile home. i have BEGGED for a little help to fix a few things. all i get is a RUN A ROUND! every house i've seen by H4H has went to black families. i guess it's the color of your skin.. not your NEED !
