U.S. Forest Service Waives Fees in Honor of Veterans Day
In honor of Veterans Day and those Americans who have served in the armed services, the U.S. Forest Service is waiving fees to the public on Nov. 11 at select day-use recreation areas in the Apalachicola, Osceola and Ocala National Forests.

In honor of Veterans Day and those Americans who have served in the armed services, the U.S. Forest Service is waiving fees to the public on Nov. 11 at select day-use recreation areas in the Apalachicola, Osceola and Ocala National Forests.
“We extend this invitation to recognize the service and sacrifices of our nation’s veterans and their families,” said Susan Jeheber-Matthews, Forest Supervisor for the National Forests in Florida. “We hope you take this opportunity to visit your National Forests in Florida to help make your Veterans Day more memorable.”
The Forest Service recreation sites listed are the only locations waiving day-use fees on Nov. 11:
Ocala National Forest Apalachicola National Forest Osceola National Forest
Fore Lake Day Use Leon Sinks Geological Area Olustee Beach Day Use Area
Farles Day Use
Lake Eaton Boat Ramp & Pier
Mill Dam Boat Ramp
Juniper Springs (**fee-free only for veterans, military members and their families)
