The Valdosta Police department has arrested the man they say killed Sydney Bivins in Sunday night's shooting.

24-year-old Bernard Sanders was taken into custody last night around 9:45.

The arrest was made during a traffic stop in the Lark Park area of Valdosta.

Police did have information that lead them to making that stop.

He was taken to the Lowndes County jail where he is being held without bond.

Right now he's being charged with one count of homicide but the police department says they do expect add charges soon.

Valdosta Mayor John Fretti says the people involved will not go unpunished.

The Police say their evidence points to more than one shooter and that they're confident a second arrest will be made soon.

I'm not done. I took time out to look at a couple of your ignorant comments and I've come to one conclusion; most of you are cowards. Of all things in life, the one thing I HATE is the spirit of a COWARD! I'm not leaving my name on here anonymously because when you see me riding through Valdosta and you have a problem with anything I'm saying, I want you to address me like a grown man. If you don't know what the hell is going on, it's much better to just shut the hell up. They all knew the consequences of coming out there to start trouble. I was born in the same projects and slept under the same roof as my brother. I'm now serving our country, fighting for our country's freedom, but if I was home and standing beside my brother there wouldn't have been any mistake on who killed him. I pray for the family who lost their loved ones, but I hurt just like they hurt. I'm on rnr leave and my brother was suppose to spend Thanksgiving here with his family.
