Birds, butterflies, horses, and nature, all coming together for the 5th Annual Pinewoods Bird Festival. Coordinators say all of this is a celebration of the wildlife this southern region has worked so hard to preserve.
Even Coordinator, Whitney White, says,"We've got birds on display that are rehab birds, we've got wildlife vendors of all varieties, and field trips going out."
The day was full of face painting, arts and crafts, as well as learning all about birds and wildlife. And vendors say it's not just about having fun but also learning how to protect nature.
Bill Boothe was one of the vendors and says, "The more people we can get out there that knows what's out there, the more conservation and preservation we can get on some of the lands."
Event coordinators say this event attracts people from as far as New York and Utah, proving that the appreciation of beautiful land and wildlife has no borders. Event coordinators say proceeds from the event will go towards the Red Hills division of Tall Timbers.
