GIBSONTON, Fla. (AP) - Hillsborough County police are awaiting toxicology reports to decide if a man accused of fatally dragging a woman with his car should be charged.
The Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Jason Hartman drove about 300 feet in Gibsonton when he noticed the woman was caught underneath his car. When he stopped, the body became dislodged.
Hartman then drove to a nearby gas station to call police.
The sheriff's office says investigators believe Candace Boedecker either ran in front of or fell into the path of the car early yesterday morning.
No charges have been filed. Police say Hartman returned to the scene after calling authorities and voluntarily gave investigators a blood sample.
