Major Drug Organization Shut Down

Updated 11/25 6:30 p.m.

Cocaine and cash are seized from eight suspected drug dealers.

It all came from what authorities say was a major drug trafficking organization in North Florida and South Georgia.

The Suwannee County sheriff says the man living at 605 Houston Avenue in Live Oak was busted at his home and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell.

With that arrest of 33-year-old Jamil White, authorities say they've successfully dismantled a major drug trafficking organization in North Florida and South Georgia.

Suwannee County resident Randi Riley said, "I have a little kid so having these drug dealers in the streets, it's awful. They're corrupting so many of our young children. Just to get them off the street is great--makes us feel safe."

Brian Hall, Robert Baker and Herbert White were also arrested in Suwannee County.

The sheriff says they started the investigation two years ago, and got enough evidence to start getting arrest warrants six weeks ago, and that's when authorities started rounding the suspects up.

Suwannee County resident Vicki Nefler said, "That's very good. I live on a street that has three drug houses. Right next door to me they sell drugs. The lady's even asked me to buy drugs. I say no."

Four suspects were arrested in Lowndes County... Vincent West, Terrance Hall, Jerica Jolly, and Curtis Mincey.

Authorities say they seized more than 800 grams of cocaine in Suwannee and Lowndes Counties.

"Good, because once you get the big guy, the little guy falls." Said, Nefler.

The lenghthy investigation culminated this week with those eight arrests.

The charges include trafficking cocaine or possession with intent to sell.

Leron Sims and Morris Terry are still at large.

Authorities say they believe they're somewhere between here and Ft. Lauderdale.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Sims and Terry should call authorities at 386-362-2222.
