The biologists say that if this cave connects to another nearby water cave, it will be considered the largest mapped watery cave system in North America.

Divers announced their discovery yesterday, saying cave exploration has been easier because of clearer water at the springs.

Sandy Cook, manager at Wakulla Springs State Park, said, "By knowing this we can better protect the uplands, what’s above this major cave system, and it will allow us to better model how much water is coming through the system and where it is coming from."

Divers say they're only one mile away from traveling the entire connection. They plan to return to the site for further exploration and mapping in the coming weeks.

You guys need to get a TV producer hooked up on it. HD cameras and all... stay the duration, fly in a recompression chamber, the whole 9 1/2 yds. Make it a production. This is cutting edge techonology teamed up with incredible diving talent and they ALL deserve the recognition.
