Florida's Republican legislative leaders say they're looking at a special session on commuter and high speed rail issues beginning Wednesday.

In separate statements, Senate President Jeff Atwater and House Speaker Larry Cretul told members to be ready to pass legislation to create a new passenger rail system in central Florida and persuade Congress to help the state pay for a high speed rail system.

Gov. Charlie Crist also supports a session to deal with the
issue.
