Friday, 134 teams and close to 5,000 participants are expected for the big run.
Last year, a little more than $400,000 was raised in the fight against cancer.
Organizers are looking forward to another successful year at the fairgrounds.
"It's important in the aspect that we raise money to fight the cancer, but then we also bring the survivors out here at the very beginning at 6 p.m., and it's to honor those people,” explains Wayne Creel, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Creel went on to say that on Friday night, those who've lost the fight against cancer will be remembered with special luminaries.
Friday at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., WCTV will broadcast live from the relay.
