One holiday weekend driver gets to spend her time gettin' the feel of a new car she won.
Paula Fortunas says that this only happens to other people, but today, she's the lucky one. The Tallahassee Urban League presented her with keys to a new Dodge Charger. The car was donated by a local dealer and this is the sixth year The Urban League has given a car away. Paula donated one-hundred dollars, entered the drawing, and that's how she won.
It didn't quite sink in until she was given the keys. Paula Fortunas said, "I kept asking Reverend Ferrell, are you sure? Is this for keeps or am I just going to get to drive it for a day or two? So I'm delighted!"
Reverend Ferrell says the donation helps The Urban League.
"We are able to make a difference in the community through the different programs that we provide for the community, so this is going to help, financially, to support the many things that we do."
The proceeds from the car drawing will help support the many services of The Urban League.
