VICE Detectives Seize 20lbs of Marijuana
VICE Detectives from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Tallahassee man charging him with Possessing Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

VICE Detectives from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Tallahassee man charging him with Possessing Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

Early Monday morning VICE detectives from both agencies conducted an undercover operation to arrest Michael R. Wilson Jr., who has been part of a long term investigation into marijuana distribution in Santa Rosa and Leon Counties.

Today as Wilson arrived in Leon County to deliver marijuana to undercover detectives he was taken into custody. A subsequent search of his vehicle yielded over twenty (20) pounds of commercial grade marijuana with a street value of $97,000.

Sheriff Larry Campbell said “indications are this subject has distributed a significant quantity of marijuana in the Florida Panhandle. This joint operation has taken a major drug dealer off our streets and will certainly disrupt the marijuana trade. VICE Detectives are continuing this investigation and additional arrests are possible. “

People tell me that 1 lb of marijuana is worth about $1,000, which would make 20 lbs worth around $20,000. Wonder where the $97,000 figure came from...? Either way, the Feds should just legalize it and tax it heavily, like they do cigarettes, etc.
