Fire Destroys Stinky’s Fish Camp Restaurant on Mahan Drive

The smell of burnt wood and charred shingles lingered in the air after an early morning blaze engulfed a local restaurant.

Tallahassee Firefighters responded to Stinky's Fish Camp formally known as Cross Creek Restaurant on Mahan near I-10 around 2:45 Wednesday morning.

Firefighters battled the smoke and flames for more than 20 minutes until they were forced outside by the collapsing roof.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal.

No injuries are reported.

Tallahassee Fire Department Press Release:

Early Wednesday morning, Tallahassee Firefighters responded to the former Cross Creek Restaurant, now called Stinky’s Fish Camp in the 6700 Block of Mahan Drive.

The call came in around 2:45 this morning and sent firefighters into the restaurant that was filled with smoke and flames.

Firefighters battled the elements inside the structure for over 20 minutes in an attempt to control the blaze, but were forced outside as the roof began to collapse.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and is listed as undetermined.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
