FAMU is taking steps to expand its university.
The Board of Trustees is meeting to discuss numerous topics on the University's future, but one of the biggest topic of discussions is the proposed addition of a College of Dental Medicine.
FAMU is looking to approve a $1.5 million request to the Board of Governors that will support exploration of a Dental School."
"We think this is an opportunity for the university to expand it's expertise into the community to make life better for people who really need help at this time," said FAMU President Dr. James Ammons.
If the request is approved, the full planning process is expected to take a year to complete.
