Deputies discover hundreds of marijauna plants and an extensive growing operation in a Tallahassee neighborhod.
All the marijuana was worth an estimated two and a half million dollars on the street.
Neighbors say they had no idea that something of that magnitude was going on around them.
A City of Tallahassee worker comes to 3247 Lord Murphy Trail on Friday because officials say the residents were stealing utilities.
But, that's the lesser of the crimes committed here.
Leon County Sheriff's deputies seized more than 250 marijuana plants from that home and another house in Killearn Acres.
Area resident Kent Deckerhoff said, "I never really knew them. I've never talked to them or anything. I wouldn't expect a drug house to be right across the street."
Four men were arrested: 31-year-old Wilmaer Lopez, 25-year-old Maikel Zamora, 66-year-old-old Wilfredo Lopez and 35-year-old Andeslay Rodriquez.
Investigators say the second grow house is at 6624 Tomy Lee Trail, which is just around the corner from the first.
Deputies say the men's set up was elaborate, saying in both houses, the suspects had nurseries for the immature plants, indoor irrigation systems, and artificial sun lighting sources.
One neighbor said, "It's very frightening. It's a couple doors down and I have children that I stay home with and play outside. Who knows, who knows what could happen? It's very frightening."
Authorities say between the two large-scale grow houses, they also found loose marijuana that weighed more than 55 pounds.
Added with the plants, deputies say it all has a street value of more than $2.5 million.
SGT Chris Chase with the Leon County Sheriff's Office said, "This is a criminal enterprise. This is not a person that's growing marijuana to smoke a little marijuana. This is strictly in it for the money."
Authorities say these types of grow houses are all over Central and South Florida but now they are moving to our back yard. They say these types of operation and suspects can be very dangerous.
It was actually a TPD investigator who first got some information on the Killearn Acres grow houses and was able to turn it over to LCSO.
