Millions Could Be Cut From FAMU's Budget in 2010

By  |

Budget cuts could be a major issue for Florida A and M's come the next year.

Anywhere from 4.4 to 8.9 million dollars would be cut from the budget during the 2010-2011 school year if the economy does not improve.

CFO Teresa Hardee says while it's too soon to tell if jobs will cut, they are looking at different ways to reduce their budget.

More than 100 jobs were saved by the 7 million dollars received in federal stimulus funds but that money will run out in 2011.

Since 2006, FAMU has cut more than 27.2 million dollars from their budget.
