One water-related problem Leon County Commissioners are trying to flush out deals with septic system issues.
Commissioners are looking for options to place sewage treatment and disposal systems in the Woodville area of Leon County.
They passed a measure Tuesday night that takes a step toward identifying different sewage and disposal options for southern Leon and Wakulla Counties.
"I'm very happy that the commission is dealing with the issue of springs and aquifers contamination and that's what this effort is trying to do," says Anthony Gaudio who supports the Commission's initiative.
The Woodville area has been plagued with septic system problems for years, and many say they're concerned about the harm failing septic tanks can have on Wakulla Springs.
This project is expected to be a joint project with Leon and Wakulla Counties and the city of Tallahassee.
