UPDATED 5:00 p.m. 12/8/2009

Fire Rescue responded to a fire at a warehouse in Havana.

The explosion happened on the 300 block of Tenth Avenue West in Havana when a worker was cutting the top off a metal drum with a blow torch.

22 year old Wyatt Lanbaeth was attempting to open barrel and did not vet the drum by cutting a hole to let the gas escape.

As he was trying to cut off the top, fire from the blow heated the metal drum filled with 99% isopropyl alcohol. When the alcohol heated up it caused an explosion.

Havana Police say about 80 % of Lanbaeth's body appeared top be burned.

His supervisor, 47 year old Kenny Walker tried to help by him rolling him on the ground and in the process burnt his own arms.

Both men were taken to Tallahassee Memorial by ambulance.

The head supervisor at the warehouse said the workers were supposed to be doing mechanic work inside the warehouse and he did not know why they were outside or why they were attempting to open the metal drum.

Around 30 minutes after the men were in the ambulance on their way to the hospital, police received another call to the same building.

Police say when the explosion initially happened sparks caused a fire to began smoldering and it was not noticed until later. There was no damage inside the warehouse but small amounts of damage to the exterior of the building.

YOU ARE ALL WASTING YOUR TIME TRYING TO MAKE SOMEONE AS SICK AS GUS FEEL ASHAMED OF HIS CRUEL REMARKS. SAD TO SAY THAT THE WORLD IS FULL OF PEOPLE LIKE HIM. THANK GOD THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMPASSION FOR THIS YOUNG MAN AND HIS FAMILY. HE WAS HIS PARENTS ONLY CHILD AND I CAN NOT EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE THAT THEY WILL EVER BE ALRIGHT AGAIN. I HAVE PRAYED FOR THEM DAILY AND WILL CONTINUE TO. I AM SO THANKFUL THAT I WAS RAISED BY LOVING PARENTS THAT TAUGHT ME THROUGH EXAMPLE TO LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY AND TO ALWAYS PAY KINDNESS FORWARD. BY THE WAY THEY WERE NOT WEAK PEOPLE, THEY ARE SOME THE STRONGEST MOST DECENT PEOPLE I KNOW AND I AM NOT A KID. I HAVE BEEN IN THIS WORLD LONG ENOUGH AND HAD ENOUGH TOUGH THINGS HAPPEN TO ME TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE CRUEL,RUDE,OR HEARTLESS TO BE STRONG. STRENGTH IS SHOWN IN HARDSHIP BUT ALWAYS WITH KINDNESS AND LOVE FOR OUR FELLOW MAN. IF WYATT'S PARENTS READ THIS, MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU.

Gus, How can I be the one that has pent up rage? Sounds like to me me that you are the one with rage. Making harsh opinionated remarks about the deceased!! People make stupid mistakes sometimes, but he paid for his mistake. So your telling me your parents would be proud of you for speaking your mind about this? Obviously your parents did not raise you to have a heart? I sure hope your children never make a stupid mistake.

ANON...I amy not be able to speak for comrade, but my parents raised me not to sugar coat anything and speak my mind...even if I happen to upset someone...that is the problem with people like you...have all this pent up rage that you feel you need to take out on people who only speak the truth! This is the reason why you allow stupid people to do stupid things without saying a word. Do you drive drunk or with someone who is drunk or driving stupidly...I would guess not! THERE IS NEVER A VICTIM WHEN IT PERTAINS TO ONES OWN STUPIDITY!
