Congressman Jack Kingston sponsored a workshop in Valdosta for seniors who want to make changes to Part D of their prescription drug plans.
About 200 seniors turned out for one-on-one guidance on reviewing and making these changes, based on such determining factors as whether their co-pay costs have gone up or down.
With well over 1000 plans to choose from, the process can be difficult to navigate.
This time, seniors say it was simple.
"It was great, nothing to it," said Alma Backhus after completing her paperwork. "I asked her questions and she answered them. That was about it."
The enrollment period ends December 31.
Seniors in Georgia can call Georgia Cares for assistance with this process at 1-800-669-8387.
