A Representative from South Carolina introduced a resolution this month asking the House to support the use of Christmas traditions and symbols.

Republican Representative Henry Brown is asking that Christmas not be watered down for political correctness.

Whether it's saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" or winter instead of Christmas concert, many folks are taking notice of the changes in the way December 25th is being celebrated.

"I feel like America's the place where you should have the liberty to celebrate whatever way you want to. And Christmas to us is all about Christ, that's what Christmas is and to take that away and not be able to do that, would be really sad," says Melody Kehl.

"Honestly I don't think it should be over thought that way. I think everyone should just get in the holiday spirit whatever you celebrate, whatever your religion is, then you represent that," says Joye Robinson.

So far, the resolution has one Democrat and 72 Republicans as co-sponsors.

The House hasn't taken it up, but the chamber adopted similar resolutions in the past.

Christianity is what this country was founded on. Christmas, the celebration of Jesus' birth, is the TRADITION of this country. All of these FOREIGNERS who have come to this country should NOT be allowed to change OUR country! If they don't like it, then go back to whence you came!!! If you are OFFENDED by our beliefs & our celebration, don't let the door hit you on your way OUT! I am tired & ashamed of the way our government is dissolving our traditions, our beliefs, & OUR FAITH for the benefit of these sorry, lazy, & trouble making foreigners. The reason that our country is in such a down spin is because of the government doing everything it has done to deny our christianity & openly praising the good Lord for this country and what he has given us. So Congressmen, Governors, District Representatives, Senators,Vice Pres. & PRESIDENT....you don't start REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE instead of yourselves & these foreigners, YOU will be next in the unemployment lines!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I bet all these people who are offended by "Christmas"would also be offended if they didn't get paid for the "Christmas" holiday that they get off,or they did not get their "Christmas" bonus.

The government should recognize Christianity as the religion of this country. They can do this without establishing Christianity as the religion of the country. People don't have to accept Christianity as their religion; their choice, no penalty. But the nation can then be secure with a recognition of Christianity, rather than a continual onslaught of 'Freedom of religion means No religion whatsoever' or 'We need to recognize all religions'. I hear that since other countries have Health Care, we should too. So since other countries recognize specific religions, shouldn't our country recognize one also?
