Firefighters Battle Morning Blaze In Madison County-Update
Fire Marshals say there was nothing suspicious about the early morning fire.

Fire Marshals have left the Old Metal Products building on Rocky Ford Road.

They say there was nothing suspicious about the early morning blaze.

They still believe it was sparked by left over materials.

One section of the building did have chemicals but it was not affected by the fire.

Officials do not believe there is any cause for concern.

Around 5:30a.m the fire department responded to a call at the Old Metal Products building on Rocky Ford Road.

The building has been abandoned for several years and was in the process of being torn down.

The Madison Metal company recently started cutting metal out of the warehouse.

Initial reports say sparks from cutting the metal may have caused the fire.

No one was on site when the fire started.

Officials are investigating whether or not hazardous chemicals may have been released.

Fire Marshals are on the scene gathering information.

The Madison County Fire Department and the Lowndes County Fire Department are currently at the scene of a fire at the Old Metal Products building on Rocky Ford Road.

Firefighters say they have the flames under control.

They say they got word of the blaze around 5:30a.m Tuesday.

Initial reports say the fire may have been caused by material left over when workers were trying to move things out of the building.

No injuries were reported.

Florida Highway Patrol and the Madison County Sheriff's Office confirm a building on Rocky Ford Road went up in flames around 6a.m Tuesday.

As of 7:18a.m they were still on the scene fighting the flames.

There may be at least three other emergency units responding to the fire at what is believed to be the old ITT Thompson Building.

We have a reporter in route and will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.

They did find a body of an adult male on Nankin Rd. West of Rocky Ford. Valdosta Daily Times had the news. No identity yet on who it was.

They did find a dead body (man) on Nankin, just on the other side of the bridge, but thats all I have heard.
