Fatal Tallahassee Shooting

Updated 6:25 p.m. 12-23

One Tallahassee man is dead, another is still in the hospital, and the person or persons who shot them are still on the loose.

Daquan Bryant says his friends spoke to him; then right when he started walking from the Time Saver Convenience Store at Old Bainbridge Road and Fourth Avenue in Tallahassee:

"The car rolled by. As a matter of fact, I don't even think I made it all the way home. I think I made it in the door. I heard the shots and we ran back down this way. The bodies were still laid out." Said, Bryant.

Those bodies were 37-year-old Robert Goodson, Jr. and another man.
the same two friends Bryant had just spoken to.

Tallahassee Police say the men were shot just before 8:30 Tuesday night.

Goodson's wounds were fatal.

Angel Watson says she walks to that same store frequently. She said, "I feel like it's sad what happened. It could've been me. I could've walked to the store, I could've gotten shot."

Police say Goodson and the other man were standing in the store's parking lot when a gray or silver car passed by with gunshots blaring from the vehicle.

The car fled before officers arrived.

Tallahassee resident William Rivers said, "It makes me feel bad because i be scared to be out here at night at all. Seven o'clock at night, I'm in the bed."

Authorities have not released the name of the other victim who was injured.

But, officers returned to the scene Wednesday to continue the investigation.

John Lovett says he goes to the Time Saver often, and says he just saw Goodson and the other man only a few hours before the shooting.

Lovett said, "To hear what happened really kind of set me back a little bit because someone I knew I just lost and a friend that I knew just got wounded. No one wins that way. Everyone loses."

The wounded victim is said to be in serious, but stable condition.

Authorities say the car involved in the drive-by is a gray or silver Monte Carlo type car.

Police say they do not have a motive and do not have any evidence linking the shooting to other crimes.

At this time, it is still unclear if Goodson and the other victim were the actual targets.
