When Did People Start Making New Year's Resolutions?
Historians believe Romans were the first to make new year's resolutions.

Shedding pounds, saving money, it's almost a new year and that means... time for resolutions. But where did it all begin?

Some say it dates back to 153 BC with mythical king Janus in who had two faces.

One could reflect on past events and the other face could look forward into the future. Romans placed his picture on the first month of their calendars. January is derived from the name Janus.

He became synonymous with change for the new year and resolutions developed from there. Historians say

Experts say from the very beginning, the top resolutions have included changes in physical fitness, reconciling a relationship or giving up a bad habit.
