Businesses along that road say they are in for a long summer. Centerville Road between Fleishman and Capital Circle is now off limits and it will be for a while as the city finishes its Blair Stone Road extension.
Jennifer Hahn, a customer, says, "I guess I'll realize how much I use Centerville Road as soon as I get frustrated.”
Blue Ribbon Dry Cleaners is right on the corner and its customers now have just one way to access the shop, Capital Circle.
Allison Chapman, Manager of Blue Ribbon Cleaners, says, "We are worried about losing those customers that aren't regulars, but other than that, I think it'll slow us down a little."
A detour will help to route traffic in two weeks, but the stretch from Capital Circle to Buford will remain closed until August. It's all very confusing.
This motorist asked us for directions to his storage unit.
"We use it every day for supplies. How are you going to get to it now? I have no clue. I'd like to know," says Wade Wilson.
The party line sits on a now-quiet corner, accessible only by snaking around to Eddie Road.
Bradley Richardson, owner of The Party Line, says, "It's tough getting everybody here now, but it's ok. I think in the long run it'll be great for our business. We can zoom across town a lot quicker. I think."
A heads up for patients headed to Capital Regional Medical Center too. It'll be a few weeks before you can enter off Buford Road.
Bottom line, if Centerville Road north of Capital Circle is part of your commute, expect to find a new route for at least the next few weeks and a detour after that.
