The Georgia preacher who gave his life for a dream of racial equality is being honored today across America.
Monday marks the 25th federal observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior's birthday.
The civil rights pioneer and Nobel Peace Prize winner is being remembered in Tallahassee today with a march to the Capitol.
It started out at the CK Steele plaza where there was a short ceremony honoring Dr, King.
During the ceremony there were speeches by dignitaries like Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor. Proctor emphasized the importance of crossing racial barriers. After the messages and entertainment the crowd began its march from the Plaza to the State Capitol .
