Press Release from the Liberty County Sheriff's Office:
On 1-22-10 an officer was monitoring text messages between a confidential informant and the suspect in reference to the purchase/delivery of Methamphetamine. The suspect agreed to drive to the CI's residence and deliver Methamphetamine in exchange for four boxes of Pseudoephedrine.
This officer along with INV. Brian Bateman (LSCO), INV. Mark Mallory (CCSO), and INV. Billy Buckhalt (GCSO) were staged inside residence as the arrest team CAPT. Michael Bryant (CCSO), INV. Robbie Maxell (GCSO), and Major Steve Swier (LCSO) were strategically posted in the surrounding neighborhood to converge on the residence.
at 4:18pm the target vehicle arrived at the residence and INV. Buckhalt witnessed a white male exit a maroon GMC Jimmy SUV. The white male then knocked on the door and the CI opened the door to let the suspect inside. They then went into a front room as we were staged up in a room down the hallway which was within ear shot of the front room.
At approximately 4:25 the CI gave the take down signal and this officer along with other members of the arrest team exited the room and entered the front room where the suspect was sitting. Once the suspect was secured officers exited the residence and arrested the driver of the maroon GMC, which was blocked in by officers posted in the neighborhood. The driver was a white female and she was taken into custody without incident.
The suspects were identified as Josh R. Patrick and Tara Nicole Carver. Both of Marianna. During a search of the vehicle a camouflage backpack that contained components of a Methamphetamine lab such as solvents and binders was found, also plastic containers containing Methamphetamine, and a Coleman stove.
Officers collected the evidence in the front room of the residence which was a small plastic container containing Methamphetamine and 4 boxes of Pseudoephedrine which Patrick was opening as he was being arrested.
Liberty County and other agencies have arrested two people.
They are charged with operating a meth lab in a house in Bristol, FL.
