With cell phones, in an instant, you can connect to friends, family, and other loved ones just by pressing the send button.

And some senior citizens are joining in on the trend and taking it to a new level...sexting!

An AARP study reported that seniors 50 plus were taking the next step to texting, they are sexting.

The study says both single and married seniors are using sexting as a way to spice up their love lives.

With busy schedules, some say sending a sweet nothing to a loved one is becoming more popular.

People interviewed in the study say it's fast, easy and fun... but one local expert says it hasn't caught on with everyone.

Local senior program director says, "I'm very familiar with seniors 50 and above and even 70 and above being very very interested in technology and starting to catch on and grasp and use all the new forms of technology such as texting but I've never heard of sexting."

Staff members at our local senior center say they are more interested in keeping up with the trends to stay close and communicate with family members.
