Judge Dempsey to Receive Reprimand
Reprimand stems from 2008 campaign ad & mailer.

Circuit Judge Angela Dempsey will be publicly reprimanded for running "misleading" campaign ads.
Dempsey will be reprimanded by the Florida Supreme Court.
In a ruling today, it called Dempsey's conduct in the 2008 campaign "wholly inappropriate."
The court found that she exaggerated her legal experience to bolster her credibility with voters. In a campaign mailer, Dempsey claimed to have 20 years of legal experience, when in fact, she'd been a member of the bar for just 14 years.
A YouTube ad also asked voters to "re-elect" Judge Dempsey when in fact she wasn't elected the first time. She was appointed to the bench.
A date for the reprimand has not been set.
Dempsey's attorney says the judge is not commenting until she has actually received that reprimand.

I think that judge Dempsey should be held accountable for her action to the full extent of the law (fired). I personally feel if she lied about something as small as her work experience it makes me question her credibility and character as a judge. I would not feel comfortable with her ruling or making any decision regarding my welfare if I had to appear in front of her in a courtroom. Cases that she presided over in the past since elected into office should be reviewed by someone of a higher authority and trustworthiness.
JUDGE DEMPSEY HAS ALWAYS BEEN A VERY FAIR JUDGE.. REGARDLESS IF THESE THINGS WERE EXAGERATED A LITTLE IT DOESNT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HER HONEST CHARACTER IN BEING A JUDGE... PEOPLE DO IT ALL THE TIME AND I FEEL SHE HAS DONE NO MORE THAN THE OTHERS HAVE DONE[JUDGES] EXCEPT THAT THERE'S HAVENT COME TO THE LIGHT YET!!!!!!!!! SHE'S A SPLENDID JUDGE, SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN A FAIR JUDGE, AND SHOWS NO PARTIALITY IN HER JUDGEMENT WHETHER IN JUVENILE COURT, ADULT COURT,ETC.. THAT'S WHAT WE NEED HONEST JUDGES SUCH AS HERSELF IN LEON COUNTY.. TO ME SHE'S ONE OF THE PERFECT ONES, SO PLEASE BE GRACIOUS TO HER. REMEMBER HER GOOD WORKS AND NOT HER SHORTCOMINGS!
