Paying it forward, just to pay it forward again. That's what some local folks are trying to do.

People with the Florida Peer Network helped prepare and serve food at the Tallahassee Homeless shelter today.

Rose Delaney says she was homeless herself ten years ago, but that's not the only reason she's helping out. Their service is part of the Disney, give a day-get a day campaign.

Once they get Disney tickets for their day of service, they are donating them to foster children across the state.

"Many of my peers were in the same situation and we decided to so called, pay it forward and do something for the community," said Rose Delaney, the Executive Director of the Florida Peer Network, Incorporated.

"It gives people who are less fortunate or in a situation that's not as good as yours the ability to enjoy things in life that maybe they couldn't if they didn't have this opportunity," said Dave Money, with the Florida Peer Network, Incorporated.

This is a wonderful cause. So many children never get to visit the Magic Kingdom and this will make their life happier even if it is only for one day. Meanwhile in the state of florida volunteerism is one of the few safety nets for people who have fallen on bad times. I hope the people of Florida band together and volunteer for the tickets and donate them to kids who deserve this one happy day. There are volunteer opportunities for both adults and children in our area. As Rose says, pay it forward for all the good things we have to be thankful for in our lives.
