A dispute about late rent lands a man behind bars...but only after the Thomas County SWAT team was called to the scene.
The incident took place on the 600 block of Crawford Street in Thomasville just after noon. Authorities say Johnny Lowery was holed up in his home after an incident with his landlord.
Few details are being released at this time but, neighbors say Lowery poured gasoline on the landlord's truck, and that's when police were called. Negotiators tried to talk to Lowery as the SWAT team lined the side of his home.
After about a two hour stand-off, agents shot him with a pellet gun. Lowery is in custody at the Thomas County Jail.
