Getting outside and enjoying the spring weather could become even more fun thanks to a wellness grant for Tallahassee.

Florida's Capital City was chosen as one of ten communities in the country to receive the grant from the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors. The city has to use the money to promote safe places for residents to exercise and play. Some hope the city uses the grant to get the word out about parks most people wouldn't know about.

"You don't see them in the papers or anything I guess. It would be nice for people to know that Tallahassee has more than one park that you can go to," said Paul Fernandez who runs at Lake Ella everyday.

$75,000 dollars will be given out over the course of three years to improve current recreational areas and build new ones.

To Anonymoous.... That may have been the most idiotic rant I've ever seen on this site. What the heck are you even talking about. The state gives the City/County plenty of money for it's roads. In fact, transportation funding is allocated based on a formula defined in statute. Long story short, your a moron!

Wellness? Thats funny. How bout Fixing roads on a timely basis instead of Over Inflated Budgets ...because it takes 9 months to build a bridge, and getting 60% of the City population off Welfare , by finding them Jobs ..then they wouldnt need the Grant.
