FSU Player Arrested

Tallahassee police say he attacked one of their officers. Twenty-three-year-old offensive lineman Bobby Meeks is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Police reports show Meeks was arrested outside of Chubby's Nightclub on West Tennessee Street when he shoved a TPD officer and took a swing at him.

LT Ken Bergstrom of the Tallahassee Police Department says, "We had to call in some backup officers and we ended up having to spray both of them with pepper spray and then had to taze both of them to get them under control so that we could take them into custody."

Meeks is a senior and started nine games for Florida State University last year. His uncle Albert Meeks was also arrested in the altercation.

We contacted Bobby Meeks at his Tallahassee apartment and he told us he has not seen his uncle since the arrest. He then said his attorney would handle any other questions.
