Bus Driver Suspended with Pay
It's been five days since the tragic bus crash in Gadsden County and tonight, there are still a lot of questions about the man behind the wheel last Monday. Timothy Kelly has been suspended from his job and many are wondering if he should have been driving at all that day.

Friday night, the focus of the school bus crash investigation places the driver Timothy Kelly in the hot seat.

But school officials are quick to point out that their 65 other bus drivers transport 5,500 students a day and have gone more than a decade without having a major incident like what happened on Monday.

According to the Gadsden County clerk of courts Timothy Kelly was pulled over on county road 269 on March 1st, just a week before the fatal crash that killed 17 year old Dee Dee Murray

Kelly was ticketed after he allegedly was going 73 in a 55 mile per hour zone.. and according to district rules not reporting a traffic violation is grounds for immediate termination.

"It's obvious that Mr. Kelly made a bad decision without question by not self reporting," says Gadsden County Superintendent of Schools Reginald James.

Drivers are required to self submit any tickets they receive. The district checks the records every Wednesday, but Kelly's ticket had not yet posted to the system.

"That report is only as efficient as moving things through the system. So there is a possibility of a ticket occurring and it might be several weeks, sometimes even months before it shows up on that report," says Gadsden County Director of Transportation Rocky Pace.

We've also learned that Kelly petitioned his ticket in order to keep the points from appearing on his record.

According to the Clerk of Court, the Judge agreed to Kelly's request based on his previous driving record.. and Kelly agreed to pay for the ticket.

But as the school district looks to move forward, they say some big changes could be in the horizon.

"We will be looking at the entire process. policies, procedures, training, the entire system," says Pace.

What I want to say is that the bus driver called in saying that he wasn't feeling well why they still wanted him to drive the bus anyways they should found somebody else to drive hello somebody suppose to be the blame for the whole thing.
