American Indians Rally at Capitol for HIV/AIDS Awareness and 2010 Census

The Florida Capitol courtyard was filled with American Indian song and dance, as several tribes from around the Sunshine State came to speak out on health issues.
Friday, March 19th is the fourth annual Native American HIV/ AIDS Awareness Day, and American Indians say their population is often overlooked when it comes to funding.
"The health system at the Seminole tribe, the only federal tribe, it's already swamped. So if you're an enrolled Indian you have to stand in line," said John Ferguson, a Muscogee Creek Indian.
2010 Sunshine Census officials were also at the rally to make sure American Indians are not under-counted. Ambassadors from the tribes say they're hoping to get more funding into health programs and services.
The Bureau of HIV/AIDs hosted the event. The American Indian Advisory Council, which is an advisory group to the bureau attended, as well as the 2010 Sunshine Census.

Kelly ANN, Your ignorance must be blissfull!! Look around you all that you see was wrongfully taken from a race of people who inhabitted this region long before columbus, and the rest of the europeans who came over, as well as having suffered by the hands of the current goverment system who systematically ran them off their lands to barren wastelands in the west so the current decendants of those settlers could wrongfully take claims to their land.
Well I can tell you keppy, they need funding because of the pain and suffering this country has put all indian tribes through since the first time the white man decided he was aboe everyone.(I am not a full blooded indian, I am caucasian, with less than 1/4 of indian in me) But i was lucky enough to know alot of full blooded indiands in my family. The torment and torture these people went through is disgucsting, and to make up for it, they should be receiving FREE HEALTH CARE!!!!!!!!!! So stop complaining.
