A Live Oak woman who was injured in a deadly crash is now recovering at home.
Sixty-five year-old Doris Davis tells Eyewitness News that she has bruises and trouble breathing, but she is released from the hospital and back at her Suwannee County home after last Thursday's crash that killed her sister in Lake City.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Davis' sister, 69-year-old Cathy Martin, was turning onto U-S 90 when she caused a van to hit her car.
Martin later died at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

Authorities say the crash happened Thursday, March 18th at 11:25 a.m.
The following is a press release:
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash which claimed the life of a Live Oak women late Thursday
morning in Lake City. According to investigators, Cathy Martin 69 of Live Oak and her sister Doris Davis 65, also of Live Oak,
was traveling south in Martin's 2009 Saturn attempting to enter onto US90 (State Road 10) from NW Hall of Fame Drive.
Turner was traveling alone in his 1998 Ford work van westbound on US90 approaching NW Hall of Fame Drive in the outside /
right lane at normal speed (approximately 40 - 45). According to witnesses and physical evidence, Martin entered onto US90
attempting to make a left or easterly turn and enetered directly into the approach path of Turner's vehicle. Turner's vehicle's front
then struck Martin's vehicle's left side (in the driver's door area) in an angled type crash. Martin sustained multiple blunt force
type injuries from the collision and was flown to Shands at UF in Gainesville, where she later expired. Davis was transported to
the Lake City Medical Center, where she was listed in guarded condition. Turner sustained minor injuries and was not taken to
the hospital.

the speed limit right after the light heading east is 35mphs. which is where the accident happened.its a very dangerous intersection..i'm sorry to hear that someone had passed away i pray they just make it were u can't across the intersection there.
This was inside the city, downtown. That's why the other vehicle was only going 40mph. It's very sad, but she pulled right out in front of an oncoming car.
I passed this accident right after it happened. It appeared that the car with the ladies didn't see the van and pulled right out in front of it. The van tried to stop but only skidded about 6 feet before it hit the car. The area is congested but not bad. It is a 45mph zone. Unfortunately when you pull out almost in front of a loaded van traveling at 45 miles per hour and you are in a mid-size car you don't stand much of a chance. Ultimately it was a miscalculation on the part of the deceased that cost her life. It is unfortunate but it was an accident, not the fault of the road or it's markings.
