ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- A judge has ruled that Casey Anthony is indigent and can use public money to pay for part of her defense against charges that she murdered her 2-year-old daughter.
Circuit Judge Stan Strickland issued the ruling Friday, a day after her attorney disclosed that ABC had paid the Florida mother and her relatives $200,000 for exclusive use of family photos and videos.
In his ruling, the judge said all costs for the defense will be submitted to the court to make sure they comply with rates and caps on spending.
Anthony has pleaded not guilty and has said a baby sitter kidnapped her daughter, Caylee. The toddler's remains were found in December 2008, six months after she was reported missing.
Anthony's trial is scheduled to start in May 2011.

Did ya'll know that CBS gave her $200,000.00 dollars for her defense.I'll never watch CBS again for supporting this baby killer.
Nellie Austin, I certainly agree with what you said, but life in jail will keep her in the limelight and that is what she thrives on.
She is indigent & already spent over $200,000, WHY doesn't she have a legal aide attorney, instead of the HIGH PRICED attorneys that she has....Anyone who kills their own baby should not have the state in their defense anyhow!!! She needs to go ahead & fess up & stop her lying! Her cell should be wallpapered with pictures of her child as a constant reminder!!!Throw the keys away!!!
