ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- A central Florida mother is charged with battery for hitting a high school student who was attacking her daughter.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Lutricia Crutchfield received a text message from her daughter saying some girls at Oak Ridge High School were going to "jump her" after second period.

Crutchfield went to the school with other relatives and saw her daughter being beaten by other students Thursday morning.

School administrators tried to break up the fight, but Crutchfield hit one of the students. She was arrested and also charged with trespass on school property.

There was no phone number listed for Crutchfield.

That Mother had every right to be on school grounds. Her daughter is a student there. I would have knocked that kid into the middle of next week if she was attacking my daughter or grandchild. Nough said!

I hate it but I would have done the same and also got the facalty for not stopping it. I bet the others didn't get anything when they should have gotten battery charges.
