The entire community was invited to get out and browse books and meet more than thirty authors on hand to sign their books.
Organizers say its about more than promoting literacy, but it's about a genuine love for the adventure found in books.
And with law-makers talking about cutting back library funds, the event couldn't be more timely.
"Funding for libraries and for education in general is absolutely essential to our culture," said organizer Donna Maredith.
All proceeds from the book festival will go toward benefiting FSU libraries.
