It happened at 4100 Pond Cypress Court. Deputies say a woman was found dead in her house earlier Monday by a family member. Now, deputies want to find her live-in boyfriend Mario Pestonit.
Neighbors who knew the couple say they can't believe it.
Neighbor Melody Radloff says, "Very shocked. We're a close neighborhood, we have parties, our kids all play together. It's really odd to see this, it's scary."
Issac Wooton, also a neighbor, adds, "It's a very peaceful neighborhood."
Neighbors in Cypress Cove are feeling shocked and scared after finding out one of their neighbors had been killed in her home. Leon County sheriff's deputies are still working the scene at 4100 Pond Cypress Cove.
Linda Butler, spokeswoman for the Leon County Sheriff's Office, says, "The victim's son came home. This morning he went into her bedroom and discovered the body."
Deputies want to find and speak with the victim's boyfriend.
"It appears that it was a domestic dispute with her live in boyfriend, Mario Pestonit. He is a suspect. He's a Cuban male and born in '59," adds Butler.
Deputies say Pestonit is driving a black Cavalier with Florida tag F56-PKY.
"Please contact us, we will stop him do not try to stop him. We want him for questioning at this point,” says Linda Butler.
Deputies are asking if you know Mario Pestonit or where he is to please contact them immediately. Pestonit does have a lengthy criminal record. He has been in and out of Florida prisons since 1981 and was most recently released about nine months ago.
He is actually free right now on supervised release for grand theft auto, cocaine possession and more.
