The clock is winding down on Florida's sales tax holiday. Consumers have one more day to cash in on the tax relief.

Retailers are calling it the next best thing to Christmas shopping. Target is raking in $2,500 per hour.

Target Manager Paulette Mesa said, "That's a lot when you are talking retail talk, so the guests are definitely coming in and taking advantage of the tax free week as well as the sales we have going on, it was a big impact."

The sales tax holiday is saving shoppers 7.5 percent on clothing, school supplies and shoes that cost less than $50.

Shopper Jeffrey Jones said, "I got to get everything now ‘cause I am at least going to save a little bit of money."

Stores such as Target and Kmart say they bring in extra employees during the ten day holiday.

"Team members come in so we can make sure we have adequate coverage on the cash register and on the sales floor to assist with the guests and with any questions they have about tax free week," said Mesa.

Retailers say while many stores are rolling in the cash, consumers are getting a bang for their buck.

Kmart employee Wayne Wheeler said, "The customers really enjoy this week, cause the fact they do save tax dollars, so it helps our sales and also helps the customers out too."

Target employees say their projected dollar amount for the holiday is around $967,000. They already exceeded that goal and still have one more day to reel in the customers.

The sales tax holiday ends Monday at midnight.
