The Rose City classic is a decades-old tradition, Thomasville High taking on Thomas County Central.
Ed Pilcher says, "When we were in the same region it was a much bigger deal, but it's still very competitive."
This season is certainly starting off with a bang for AA school Thomasville and 4-A Thomas County Central, and it's starting two weeks early!
High school teams all over the state have an early start this season because the Southeastern Conference Championship moved up the availability of the Georgia Dome, but Thomasville and Thomas County Central players say they feel ready.
Chris Burkes says, "Practicing hard, running hard, going over plays."
Jamius Virgil adds, "I have no doubts we can make it back to the same place we did last year, probably do even better."
Confidence is high on both sides, and coaches say after the classic is over they'll just start working towards the playoffs.
