Art Thefts

Authorities say the alarm system at the Inspiration Living Fine Art Gallery was triggered at 9:35 p.m. on August 13.

As Charley was pounding Orlando with winds near 100 mph, the alarm was dismissed as false, but they now know thieves had smashed a glass window to gain entrance and steal the gallery’s most prized possession: a bronze sculpture of Michelangelo "Madonna Della Pita."

The 75-pound bust is worth $25,000.
