Unsolved Robberies

Tallahassee police are searching for a suspect involved in a Saturday night armed robbery. Officials say it happened shortly after 11 p.m. at Sonny's restaurant on North Monroe Street.

Police say the suspect armed with a small handgun entered the restaurant through the back door and demanded money from the safe. The man then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as black male approximately 5’8” wearing a blue mask with a black shirt and blue jeans. No one was injured in the robbery.

Just across town at about the same time, another robbery was taking place. Tallahassee police say this one happened in the parking lot near Avalanche Technology. Investigators say the female victim had just left her business and was approached by a man who asked her for a dollar.

As she got in her car the suspect grabbed her by the throat. Authorities say the suspect then grabbed her backpack, which contained her keys, her ID and her money.
