The governing board of Florida's
public insurance carrier is recommending a rate hike averaging 8.4
percent statewide.
The increases suggested Monday for Citizens Property Insurance
Co. would vary by location. In some parts of South Florida, prices
could increase as much as 11.3 percent. In others, like Miami Beach
and coastal Broward and Palm Beach counties, rates could actually
decrease.
The insurer say the rate adjustments are necessary to offset
increasing claim payouts for fires, sinkholes and other calamities.
Citizens was formed to cover property owners who can't find a
private company willing to insure them.
The changes must still be approved by Florida's Office of
Insurance Regulation.

You have got to be kidding me. I have citizens and someone broke into my mobile home. Stole all the wiring which meant they broke a window, ripped out the walls, insulation and basically destroyed the entire place. Citizens said they don't cover burglary and sent me a check for 1/10 of the work needed done to fix it. It paid for the broken window. I don't have the money for the difference (spent it on the premium to pay for the insurance) and now I can't live in the trailer, rent it or do anything. I called the agent and complained. They didn't care either..

How the hell is a rate hike going to lower anyones taxes fines or fees. Do they really think people are that stupid to believe this? When has the price of anything went down besides the price of the land and houses we think we own? Has anyones taxes went down? has the price of beans in china went down? Holy crap I'm so tired of these people that are stealing us blind, I'm tired of you idiots that believe them too. Ohhhh deatttthhhh ,want you spare me over for another year... 16 tons and what'll you get another day older and deeper in debt. We got off the plantation and they still think we are their wage slaves, taxes fines fees, pay up or men with guns will come and take everything you own, Those men with guns are paid for by us and are being used against us for greed and control of our monies and properties that we think we own!We pay taxes to support the men with guns that come and take us away for not paying more.I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
