Sandbags Available in Tallahassee

Sandbags are available at the corner of Belle Vue and Mabry for residents who fear flooding from Frances. All folks need to bring is a shovel.

The city is aggressively monitoring Hurricane Frances and urges citizens to do the same.

Mayor John Marks says, "Continue to monitor [the] hurricane and expect the worst. We want to be prepared."

There are six locations in Leon County where residents can get sandbags:

  • Eisenhower Pit off Tyson Road
  • The Division of Operations on Miccosukee Road.
  • U.S. 27 North landing near Lake Jackson
  • Ranchero Road at Oak Ridge
  • Tekesta Park
  • Belle Vue Way
