Tallahassee, FL - "They're all dressed up as their favorite character from TV and movies, anime and comic books today... it's great", says Alt*Con first timer, Matt Atchley.

Have you ever seen a wookie, a zombie, and a vampire all under one roof? Chances are you probably haven't. Alt Con 20-14 kicked off with a bang Saturday... where organizers say the more different you are, the more normal you'll seem.

"There's Dr. Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Gallactica, comics, Anime", says Rob Barfield, who is spending his second weekend at Alt*Con.

Organizers say that geeks young and old are welcome at Alt Con. No matter what your guilty pleasure, there's a little something for everybody, including this life size Battlestar Gallactica Raider One and even an R2D2 that can be found buzzing around the Civic Center.

But what about the non-geeks? Participants say there's a place for you too.

"You don't even have to consider yourself a geek. Just come out, and have fun, see the cool costumes, and just have fun, and see what there is to see. There's a lot of stuff for everyone here", says veteran Alt*Con attendee, Alice Infinity.

Infinity says Alt Con is a place where Geeks can be themselves... while not being themselves. Just ask Callie Cosplay.

"I do consider myself a geek. I will always be a geek. "

Alt*Con continues Sunday at the Tallahassee Civic Center from 10 am to 5 pm. If you've got an old superhero costume lying around, the costume contest begins at 3 pm.
