Associated Press Release
MIAMI (AP) -- Feeder bands from the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea are making for a miserable commute in South Florida with heavy rains and flooded streets.
The National Weather Service estimated the storm dropped more than 9 inches of rain on eastern Miami-Dade County and more than 6 inches of rain on eastern Broward County on Friday.
The Miami Herald (http://tinyurl.com/lfjn6ko) reports 70 vehicles were stalled on flooded roads in Aventura, a city just north of Miami. Police in a handful of cities urged residents to stay off the roads until the rains ceased.
A flash flood warning was also in effect from Fort Lauderdale to North Miami for the bulk of the Friday commute home.
