Tallahassee, FL - Apalachee Tapestry School of the Arts in Tallahassee is designated as a 2014 to 2016 Exemplary School.
It was selected from schools across the country.
The designation means the elementary school has successfully completed a self-evaluation in the areas of strengths, improvement, consistency with school-wide or program purposes, new aspirations, and future challenges.
The school's principal, Iris Wilson, says, "It takes a lot of work on the part of the teachers to make sure that the arts are integrated and that we're not just doing a created project at the end. We've been working on it for about four years. To finally get that designation is just great for our school, community and the district."
The school will be honored at the Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado in October.
