Tallahassee, FL - Multiple police cars and the bomb squad swarmed Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after a phone call came in from an alert employee.
OFC David Northway, Tallahassee Police Department, "TPD received a phone call from a security guard here at TMH that he had located what he believed may have been a suspicious package."
The Big Bend Regional Bomb Squad shut down the main entrance to the emergency room while they investigated a piece of luggage that looked suspicious enough to cause concern.
The big bend regional bomb squad was on scene at TMH for about three hours before deeming the area safe.
While on scene there was also another package that was reported to be suspicious in nature. It turned out to be a backpack with personal belongings in it.
Spokespeople for TMH say the impact to the hospital was minimal.
Warren Jones, Vice President/Chief Communications Officer, stated, "there was a short period of time where the access to the emergency room from that particular parking deck was closed down. During that period of time did we not have patients coming in, we were able to reroute them in through the main part of the hospital."

Situation deemed safe at TMH after TPD Hazardous Devices Team on
scene for about 2 hours.
Two packages were discovered and neither found to be hazardous.

According to Police, there was a luggage like item in parking garage that a security guard didn't think belonged there.

According to Warren Jones of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital:
Warren has reported that there is suspicious activity near the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Emergency Room parking area, but has no comment on exactly what at this time.
There is heavy police presence outside of TMH right now.
